About Fiscal Musings

Fiscal Musings is a website that I started back in February 2007 where I discuss a broad range of financial topics. The goal is to share those things that I’ve personally learned and experienced in hopes that it in some way will help others not only improve their financial situation but eventually obtain financial freedom and independence. The topics discussed on this blog include (but are not limited to) money management, savings, investing, financial products and literacy, business and entrepreneurship.

About The Author

I grew up in Dallas, Texas in a middle class family that seemed to constantly struggle with money. At the age of 13 I helped my older brother start and run a landscaping business from which point I have more or less been on my own financially. After High School, I went to Brigham Young University out in Utah where I studied Electrical Engineering. I also was able to spend two years in Frankfurt, Germany between my freshman and sophomore years. Upon graduating in 2006 at the age of 25, I took a job and moved with my wife to the St. Louis area where we currently reside.

I have always been interested in personal finances and told myself from a young age that I would one day “make it” and become financially independent. It wasn’t until my final year in college, though, that I started to get things together and make specific goals and plans in order to make it a reality. I developed a strong interest in business, entrepreneurship and investing after taking a couple classes from the business school. I have since taken it upon myself to learn as much as I can about all things financial, hence the creation of Fiscal Musings.
