Most major retailers have plans in place that penalize manufacturers that cannot deliver (Best Buy for one).

Also it isn’t a plot because they know that for every mad eBay’ers, there are fifty who will move on to the next thing on their list.

Guitar Hero III has the same stock issue and they know they won’ get back all of the sales.

I read somewhere that Nintendo upped their production 80% from last year, and it’s still not enough.

I’m skeptical, David–there’s only 10 days to go. And they’ve apparently said they were embarrassed by it. I think it’s a sad mismanagement… :-/

It’d be nice if they were cheap and plentiful, though.

I bet Nintendo is already mass producing Wiis like crazy for the holiday event. I’m sure they will reduce the price just to sell more as the economy isn’t at such a great state right now.
